Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows By: J.K. Rowling

Deathly Hallows

Synopsis from Barnes&Noble.com:
We now present the seventh and final installment in the epic tale of Harry Potter.

I flew through this final book and I loved this book so much. It was amazing!! This book had so many diffents twists and turns everywhere! Every pages was amazing. The story never slowed down to let you catch your breath. It was like many different adventures tangled together to make one amazing story. The ending had one shock after another that left you reeling after each one. I thought that J.K. Rowling wrapped up the whole series wonderfully tying all the loose ends. This book easily deserves 5 out of 5 stars!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince By: J.K. Rowling

Half Blood Prince

Synopsis from Barnes&Noble.com:
The war against Voldemort is not going well; even Muggle governments are noticing. Ron scans the obituary pages of the Daily Prophet, looking for familiar names. Dumbledore is absent from Hogwarts for long stretches of time, and the Order of the Phoenix has already suffered losses.
And yet…
As in all wars, life goes on. Sixth-year students learn to Apparate — and lose a few eyebrows in the process. The Weasley twins expand their business. Teenagers flirt and fight and fall in love. Classes are never straightforward, though Harry receives some extraordinary help from the mysterious Half-Blood Prince.

So it’s the home front that takes center stage in the multilayered sixth installment of the story of Harry Potter. Here at Hogwarts, Harry will search for the full and complex story of the boy who became Lord Voldemort — and thereby find what may be his only vulnerability.

I thought that this sixth installment to the series was ok. It had some interesting parts that kept me hooked for pages at a time. But between those parts I thought that the story was kind of dull and maybe dragged out a bit too much. It took me quite awhile to finish this book because of some of these dull parts. But the parts that held my attention more were amazing! I felt that the book was split half and half between interesting and slow parts but overall I still enjoyed it. I gave this book a 3.5 out of 5 star rating.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix By: J.K. Rowling

Order of the Phoenix

Synopsis from Barnes&Noble.com:
There is a door at the end of a silent corridor. And it’s haunting Harry Potter’s dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror?
Here are just a few things on Harry’s mind:
•A Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey
•A venomous, disgruntled house-elf
•Ron as keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team
•The looming terror of the end-of-term Ordinary Wizarding Level exams
…and of course, the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. In the richest installment yet of J. K. Rowling’s seven-part story, Harry Potter is faced with the unreliability of the very government of the magical world and the impotence of the authorities at Hogwarts.
Despite this (or perhaps because of it), he finds depth and strength in his friends, beyond what even he knew; boundless loyalty; and unbearable sacrifice.

Even though this book is the longest of all the Harry Potter books I flew right through it. The author did a great job of keeping the plot interesting. You find yourself on the edge of your seat rooting for Harry and what he needs to accomplish. There were plenty of twists and turns as always and I also liked to see how the characters kept developing through out the story as they change throughout their year at Hogwarts. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The 5th Wave By: Rick Yancy

The 5th Wave

Synopsis from BarnesandNoble.com:
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

I have seen this book everywhere and i finally picked it up and I’m so glad that I did. This book was AMAZING! The beginning kept you in the dark a little bit which kept you entertained and hooked. Throughout the whole book I found myself jumping to so many different conclusions on the characters and who to trust because the author kept you on the edge of your seat with the characters. This made the book all the more entertaining and made me want to keep reading until the ending, which was also spectacular. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the non stop action and twists and turns that made every page great.
